I am looking for furniture, etc. for my apt. and was wondering if there are any thrift stores you would suggest. I've been to the Goodwill on highland, and I am wondering if it would be safe for a 23 year old female to go to the store located at 7040 E Shelby Dr.? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I believe there is a Goodwill on Danny Thomas and Jefferson downtown, and one on Central in midtown. Also there is one somewhere in Bartlett/Cordova but I cannot remember where.

There is a large Goodwill center in Bartlett on the south side of Highway 64 (Stage Road) just east of Highway 70 (Summer Ave). They mostly have clothes, but do have a furniture section toward the rear.

There is also a thrift store on the north side of Summer Ave just west of Highland, but I can tell you what they stock since I haven't been in there in years.

The DAV thrift store at Summer and Highland usually has just a few pieces of furniture at any one time, but there are another couple of stores in that same area that would be worth looking into I think. They are across the street from DAV, maybe one is a goodwill store, one I think calls itself an antique store but has furniture and other stuff as well. Maybe also check BoJo's antiques on Summer, sometimes you can pick up some good deals on odds and ends.

There are a couple up here in Munford. One belongs to a mini-storage. I think he sells off the belongings of non-paying storage renters. And there is another one "down town" in munford. There's also the Methodist center that use to be in Atoka. I've not been to where they've moved to so I couldn't tell you where they are now.
We got a stove for $100 and a washing machine for also for $100. Also I would check Craigslist for furniture. It's not furniture, but I got my dishwasher on Craigslist for $45.
