That's a good point, most people who live in the burbs have no reason to go downtown, outside of maybe a Grizzlies or Redbirds game. it's almost like a road trip for them! And no one wants to drive 45 minutes, pay to park, and then walk around to shop in a few stores when they could just go to Oak Court/Wolfchase/Avenue for free and be around hundreds more stores to shop in.

I wish downtown would grow more, but it's almost like the city planners aren't getting it. They are building a billion condos but not building anything that would make people want to move there. Grocery stores, clothing stores, drugstores, "neighborhood" type restaurants, more parking, etc. Why move downtown when it means you'd spend your nights wandering the streets with tourists and thousands of cruisers who make downtown a living he*l lately anyways. I hate downtown anymore because of the cruising situation, and that's unfortunate because I lived downtown for years.

There's a cute used bookstore inside the Midtown Artist Market. They have a coffeeshop there as well. It's like a coffee place, art gallery/store, and used bookstore. How cool is that?!
