Housing advise: Rhodes? Vollintine-Evergreen? (Memphis: homes, neighborhoods, private schools)

I am moving to Memphis this summer, and need to find housing near Rhodes. What is Vollintine-Evergreen like?

Also, among the private schools, what are the best under $500? Thanks!

It's impossible to generalize areas of Memphis like that. Neighborhoods can go from bad to good to bad in a matter of streets. You really need to come see for yourself. Yes, there are some $500k homes in that area, very expensive. But there are also some shacks that border bad areas.

$500...a month? I think most schools go by annual tuition here, maybe semester. I don't have kids to send to private school, but I do know that friends have looked in the past and found private schools that range from $2000 and up for kindergarten alone, and some are $20,000+ a year for high school years. (the most elite) I can't help you with specifics, but it's an arm and a leg to send kids to private school, but unfortunately it's a necessity here.
