Thinking of buying a house in Colonial Acres. I am a newcomer to Memphis so what category would you put it in? It is blue right now. Thanks!

oops! I accidentally put it in blue instead of green! It was one color off!

To ask about that area you'll need to start a new thread.

I dont think Raleigh should be red. It's an inbetween area. Some bad parts closer to Frayser, some nice areas closer to Bartlett. Similar to Hickory Hill.

West Memphis is fine, it's across the river in Arkansas. Not the prettiest area of the country, but it's okay. Houston Levee area is good, out east near the Collierville area of the map.

Alisa!! We have covered this in your thread. If you press the "page 2" button on the map, you'll find that your "Houston Levee" area (ie; Cordova) is in purple... purple has been explained!

Houston LeVee is a long road ranging from Shelby Drive in Collierville/Southwind and ending at I-40 in Canada/Cordova/Lakeland area.

Purple means that they are considered both good and bad because of the surrounding areas.

some of west memphis is unattractive, some of it is very decent middle class, and some of it is very attractive. the downtown area looks a bit run down. many who consider the west metropolitan area of memphis at this time are moving to marion, which is to the north of and borders west memphis.

this area, along w/ the jonesboro metro area---now that the road system is finished in the area south of jonesboro---is going to become a very high growth and fast growing area. in addition, if the north memphis bridge over the mississippi river comes to fruition, as it most assuredly will, the micro area of blytheville, arkansas and the metro areas of jonesboro, arkansas are going to quickly connect to the metropolitan area of memphis.
