I have looked all over for canned octapus. They don't have it in the gourmet shops and the health food places. When I lived in Pennsylvania I could find it in almost any supermarket. I miss it!

Have you tried some of our Asian grocery stores? They have all sorts of....things. (Like dried cuddle fish. which i am probably spelling wrong.) I am fond of the one at Summer and White Station. (Warning- the old man speaks little english, but usually another customer will help you ask for something.) When I lived in Midtown I visited an Asian grocery on Clevland, between Madison and Poplar. Both of the Asian grocers I am thinking of are good sized stores and have canned seafoods and fresh.
What does one do with canned octopus?

Have you tried Winchester Market? They have huge selections of canned and frozen seafood.
I went today for the first time to satisfy my curiousity and it was unique. Didn't enjoy the smell of fish.

How can canned octopus possibly be categorized as gourmet or health food?
That's just wrong!

Yeah... that's what I was thinking. If there's no canned octopus in the city, that's at least one thing Memphis has going for it.

(Just kidding, I'm not a Memphis hater, please don't attack me. )

If you like octopus, EAT WELL buffet, near Gremantown Parkway and Stage Road, has surprisingly good octopus on their buffet.
