I wouldn't say that I've had suicide thoughts or depression due to the economic recession but I will say that when I first lost my corporate job and that seems like it was ages ago, I did not know what to think. Sure I was bummed out over losing the job but what can you do? Everybody seems to be losing their jobs these days. How do I cope with this? Well I just work on my internet related stuff from home looking forward to the day when my efforts will really pay off. In the meantime, I'm frustrated now for I don't know what reason. It may be that my Aspergers syndrome is causing me to have these mood swings which I'm getting treated for. My net appointment cannot come soon enough I've got other underlying issues to deal with besides what is going on with the economy and let me tell you it is not easy.

Couldn't agree more, funyunnyc. In fact, I believe it is currently more pertinent, to a larger group of people, then it was two years ago.

I agree. It's just that now the media doesn't talk about it anymore so people think that everyone is doing well.

Well, recessions come and recessions go.... just like good times come and good times go (and hard ones also) it's easy to get depressed, but suicide is such a permanent solution to such a temporary problem.
(And although it may be an easy out for the person, it can be devastating to others left behind, even if you don't think it will be.)
