I know it is annoying. One of my neighbors was on public assistance, because she was so messed up from drinking she could not work. She lived rent free in a neighborhood I was paying $1200 a month for an apt, she had free medical care, food stamps, and kept having more kids. Talk about rewarding bad behavior!
You think people like to be alcoholics? You think it's fun? I wish I could put you in my shoes for one day and see how you like it. No I would never do that to anybody.
Become a recovered alcoholic... someone armed with the facts about the condition and the recovery thereof, like me... and you won't give jack about what they say because what they say about us ain't our business anyway.

I just got back from an A.A. meeting tonight and saw one guy claim his 60th day sober and also that he just finished his 5th step. Another guy is new to our group and keeps showing up, wants one of us to sponsor him, and is receptive to learning about meditation.
What are you up to again?
