Well, nowhere in the OP's description did I pick up passive-aggressive. I picked up distracted, thinking of other things, etc. No mention of anger was made.

Let's think of a passive-aggressive example. I'm angry at you so I pack a lunch for you I know you'll hate. That is passive-aggressive.

Hey; I'm the OP! and the phrase I was looking for was passive-aggressive.

People that ignore you, and continue to try to explain PA to you are probably passive-aggressive, but they would never admit it.....right?

People are free to discuss what they like, but for my part, getting the term was all I requested. And it has nothing to do with anyone on this forum but with a problem I have with my brother. This morning, actually. I won't bore everyone with it.

Well, I think you were looking for the wrong word. Maybe someone just doesn't feel like talking about something. Or they're thinking about other things. Was the person angry? If so, you did not say that.

I'm not PA, because if I have a problem with someone I will come straight out with it. For example, I have a problem with your post. You did not come straight out with implying that I was misinterpreting things. In a sideways manner, you implied I am PA and then said "right?" which was a sideways remark.

I suggest you google on passive-aggressive behavior. And we have no way of knowing if this person was angry or not.

Misty, I don't have to google the term to know what it means. I learned it through text books and real life experience because I am a licensed therapist.

Well I'm sorry you feel that way; I wasn't implying anything about you. Passive-aggressive behavior cannot be determined, anyway, from just a few brief interchanges. It has to be a larger pattern of behavior.

So no; I'm sorry if it felt that way, but I wasn't doing that.

Ok, then you realize that certain terms are over used and not appropriately.

There is nothing inherently passive-aggressive about someone who does not wish to discuss something, or is distracted, etc.

What *is* passive-aggressive would be the example I gave or any myriad of other crazy making stuff.

IF you're a licensed therapist, I am sure you know all this. Not sayin' you're not, but this is the Internets.

My comment wasn't directed at you.
