Life is just overwhelming and sometimes I feel like going to sleep and not waking up . Sleep is my favorite activity. It's like an escape where I feel nothing. No worries,or sadness or anxiety just good feelings of nothingness, and sometimes you get to dream too which is fun. Anyone feel like this ?

I hope to wake up though...But sleeping is also one of my favorite hobbies and a central part of my life. I just can't function with 8 hours of sleep it got be 10 or 12 hours, that's just the way I am and propably will be as long as I live. I have very vivid dreams also.

When I am bored or just don't want to deal with something, I take a nap.

Yes, when I was depressed I wanted to sleep forever. You might want to get checked out for depression.

I do. But not forever, though. I have a family that won't be able to handle this.. and I fear the after-life too
But a long coma would be perfect.

Agh, I wish there is pill that induces a deep deep coma!

A good nap is right up there with good sex, and when you reach my point in life it replaces the latter.

However, more seriously - I had a roommate many years ago who felt this way, and who constantly was retreating to his bed to escape. He ended up totally overwhelmed by reality because he kept fleeing to his bed for solace. He finally became totally unable to cope, turned into an unwashed recluse and died in his apartment from illness compounded by serious self-neglect.

On the other hand, if you are just philosophically inclined, naps can be good practice for accepting the final Endless Nap.

When I was clinically depressed, I could "will" myself to sleep...for 20 hours a day. Comatose. There was so much I could not manage or deal with....glad I am not there any longer.

Yep, I am depressed, and I do want to sleep forever. I hate being awake and dealing with what I'm dealing with. But also, my sleep is restless due to worry, so really no escape,

This is a sign of passive suicidality. If you have a therapist, please discuss it with them. If you don't, get one!
