It said: Entamoeba coli cysts. I had had problems with hemorrhoids too. But this scares me a lot. The doctor said that the blood was because of the parasites and in 17 days I'm going to make the stidy again, if the result is positive again, I'm going to make a colonoscopy. I'm worried and depressed.

The occult blood can be caused by parasites? or by hemorrhoids?

Parasites aren't a big deal. Hemorrhoids, as you know, can give a sort of "false positive", but the colonoscopy would clear that up. The only thing to worry about is if they find polyps on the colon. And btw, a colonoscopy isn't a big deal. I've had two (family history of colon cancer), both without sedation. If I were you, I'd assume that the problem is parasites, rather than a serious colon problem. That should help put your mind at ease. It's not unusual for people to have parasites.

Yes, the doctor said that if the result was the same in 15 days, the next step would be a colonoscopy. I'm trying to assume that and not to worry so much. I hope the result is negative next time. Thank you!
