In the past, a lot of doctors used to mistreat me.

They used to tell me that being an atheist was an illness, that I didn't deserve to do things other college-aged people did (that telling me getting drunk in frats was "bad" and "not spiritual") and that I was not allowed to go out at nights since it was "mentally unwell to do so".

Even physical doctors tell me crap, which is not per their standard procedures. It's as if they continuously single me out for bad treatment.

So is it wise to only see doctors for absolutely critical things?

Also, I detest psychiatry since it's based on voodoo, lies and excessive subjectivity to be labelled a science.

Only if you don't believe in any preventive care or early treatment, and allow illnesses to get so bad that you may have permanent damage or worse.

If so, so be it. Is averting mistreatment bad now?

I can't help but wonder what kind of doctor you saw. It certainly isn't the usual patient advice.

Maybe you fear what the doctor might say, and not the doctor himself.

I don't think you need to see a doctor for preventive care or early treatment..most people would know when it's time for a doc....OP, I fear doctors too...it's probably more normal than not...just a guess though
Some people may already know what's wrong with them and fear the confirmation the doc would give.
Some people just flat out don't trust them to do what's right by them...there's probably many reasons for that fear...I don't think it's unusual at all.

That's probably right, but you gotta remember, only doctors "say" it.

And I don't trust doctors, since they ALWAYS say and do things that are not ethical by their own standards. and they say things that conflict with common society/reality. they say "always be nice!" when only a fool acknowledges this in the real world. I feel they merely single me out because they hate/detest me, whilst the whole world can show great faults and not be seen as "bad" for doing bad ****. I'm not saying I want to be a murderer or something lol.. but doctors simply **** me up and don't get even basic nuances in people. I don't get why I am "bad" or "ill" for showing NORMAL weaknesses when MANY others are not.

I just wish that I was in school or college/uni, doing my own thing, my own way. This was/is the norm for MANY, and for some silly/stupid reasons I was cheated from it and made to be "sad". People on this forum would say "meh, get over it". OK, but yeah your opinion means a lot. I can tell people in Syria to get over it, I doubt they'd take me on, right? the reality is that evil people denied me youth, when good/contented youth was/is assigned to ALL.

Terrible, irresponsible advice. Many, many serious medical conditions, hypertension being one of the most common, often have NO symptoms.

guess it depends on what you wanna spend your money on..I know I can practice "preventive" care on myself without a doctor. I knew someone went in for a physical..passed in flying colors (he was a fireman), then dropped dead 2 months late from a heart attack....didn't do HIM any good.
