I read that many cases of dysthymia are caused by systemic, long, ongoing problems that don't go away. Things like chronic poverty, illness etc.
I'm considering taking something because there are a number of circumstances in my life that are not changable in the near or distant future. Looking at things in a different light does not make those problems disappear and some problems aren't a matter of perspective but real and would trouble most people.
