"There are times, Chief O'Hara, when I think we become too dependent on Batman and forget that he, too, has a life."--Commissioner Gordon after "The Voice" (Alfred) has regretfully informed him that Batman is out of town on personal business.

Here and there, one TV show or the next may say something that is memorable, that is good to take to real life. By the way, the title is from Shatner on SNL.

I, for one, spend too much time on the computer. I think a lot of us do. It's just something of the modern world that we are like this. Of course, it doesn't help....or perhaps it does....when there are time delays between when one posts and when others see it and perhaps reply.

But for all the time that I do, I might have been in Melinda and Warren's room, on my belly, talking to them instead. Sure, there is the need to do more productive things, but certainly talking to them, to the other cats, is better than being on the computer.

So why am I here now? My coffee is making so I'm awaiting or at least, can have an interval before I turn to other things.

Granted, getting away from the computer and having a life isn't always easy. In less than a week, Texas Ren Fest starts up and there is where much of my life will be for October....if it isn't with belly dancing. But when we aren't back in the past, aren't on stage or in the studio, we use the computer a lot to see who is going to be there, where we can meet, plan secret rendezvous, the times and places of photo shoots, and so forth.

In the end, will we be able to paraphrase the end of the Patton speech in the movie? To say that we did this and this and that.....or that we typed on the computer in Louisiana?

EDIT: or sitting here at the computer, coffee at the side, cat on the lap being petted
