I was very anxious as a child/young adult, but it has improved with age. I do have social anxiety though, and that is a constant battle. I'm also an introvert. I've done some crazy things to combat my anxiety such as: stand up comedy classes, public speaking classes like Dale Carnegie, improv class, traveling alone, etc. I think it's helped, but I do admit its a slow process, at least for me. I have taken Xanax or Klonopin at times. Helps take the edge off.

Haven't read the entire thread....

did someone mention the diagnosis Social Anxiety? It's a real thing. Mine was helped by visits to a therapist and medications.

It worked amazingly well. While I do not crave social contact, I now don't worry over it either.

BTW....not a good idea to take all these cd recommended herbs etc without talking with your MD first.

Sometimes the MD can mess you up. I have been reading that scrips for benzos have been increasing.

It's too tempting for many people to use too much and get dependent. Then after a while people build up resistance and feel even worse anxiety than they had. I have a friend who said Klonopin withdrawal was the worst thing he ever experienced. Here's Stevie Nicks talking about her experience:
