In all my yrs of seeing psychs I've never really liked any of them. I didn't 'hate them' but never felt any connection. With all other docs no problem....I find ones i really like. I'm going to ask my gen doc if she has someone she can refer me to. It's all a crap shoot anyway, at least going on previous experience.
I even looked on yelp but didn't find any.

I'd recommend that you switch from expensive Cymbalta to Effexor (venlafaxine.) They're both dual re-uptake inhibitors but venlafaxine is available as an inexpensive generic: Cymbalta is not. Good luck.

I used to open the capsules and take a few of the insides out, slowly but surely until I was down to nothing. Nasty things to get off of. I don't miss the brain zaps. They went on for several weeks after I was off of them.

I'm going to ask about Effexor. Thanks,

Cymbalta has been available in generic form for over 6 months. Still expensive but of course not as expensive.

You have to go a whole lot slower than you think you have to and what the doctors will tell you. Read my post if you want that I just posted. And I have had a rebound depression months later after getting off of them, but still do not plan to go back on them. I would try Lithium again, but that's about it.

Weird question: do you still eat the capsule or just the pieces inside?

My regular wrote me a script for Effexor and doubled my klonapin to help with the withdrawal from Cymbalta. Waiting to do this after Xmas vacation (home to Miami for a week).

I did try the generic Cymbalta but could tell the difference. And yeah, the price was definitely nothing to write home about.

I was down to about four beads in the end of Cymbalta and just put them in the capsule and took like normal.

I still swallow the capsules (with fewer little beads inside).
