I'm really not sure what to do. I'm in my mid-twenties, and in the last 4-5 months I have spent most days worrying about nothing. I worry about my age, looks, health, lack of friends, my future, etc. It gets to the point where I feel like I am holding back tears. I worry as I get older, this worrying will get even worse. There's a constant sense of dread that I can't seem to shake, no matter how irrational it is. I have so much to be thankful for and to be proud of, yet I don't feel those things.

I have a few options. Should I go to a therapist that cost under $100 per session (yikes). Or go to the EAP at work (you have to go through your boss first). They're both awful choices.

Are you sure you have to go through your boss for EAP? We had a toll free number to call for EAP and our employer had no names to associate to who went because of privacy issues. I worked in the Benefit office and no names showed up on the billing from EAP, only the number of employees that used the program.

You have to go through the Health and Safety manager and then they will provide the number and make some arrangements. It's such a silly set-up.

Ok... Maybe you could look into counseling that's on a sliding scale based on your income.

Go to your regular doctor and get a referral. Maybe you need a good physical and maybe some medications will calm you.
