Just another question that my SO and I are dealing with. It appears from conversations that my SO has with his mother and he has always suspected this, but, is mom sees my SO as her spouse. She has reached new levels of jealousy and anger it would appear because he really has not had a long term girlfriend in a very long time so this is escalating the problem. In one of her recent telephone complaints she was saying how I have taken her place and again how I have low morals etc. etc. My question is would this be a common thing with a BPD mother and son?

My SO has also learned to cut down on her phone calls which is also causing some undue anger for his mother, but, a great stress relief for us!!! Most of this is being done with the help of his counselor as well.

They say mixed emotions is your mother in-law driving over a cliff in your brand new Cadillac!

(You are not the first one to have this problem. Counseling can help you and your husband deal with this "issue". Also helpful for learning to deal with other troublesome people who come along from time to time. Sounds like you and your husband are on the right track!)
