I got through a horrible winter in a new state I relocated to that was very grey and rainy for many months. I should have known better and did more research, though everyone told me I wouldn't have problems like SAD here.

For the last six years, except for the last year, I have had symptoms of severe depression when other people are starting to feel good - in spring/ and part of summer. Sometimes it only starts to lift in mid-July.

This state I moved to is also more humid than I am used to and I just don't feel any better now. Part of it is coming off of the psych meds I restored to this winter out of desperation that only helped for a bit and then turned on me.

I was looking forward to spring/summer and feeling so much better and I don't.

Does anyone else have summer SAD? It's almost a different type of SAD than I had this winter. I am just so lethargic and fogged out mentally. During the winter, I was depressed, but anxious and kept myself working harder. Now I am having a hard time doing much of anything, which is typical of previous spring/summer episodes.

But I am wondering if heat and humidity makes things worse for those with depression in general? There is also a theory that allergens cause more inflammation in the brain. Well, I am somewhere where there is a lot of foliage of various types.
