I haven't worked a full-time job in years...i work a part time job that i love and then i still get disability where I go to counseling every week and see my doctor each month.
My family says its not right for me to collect disability if i was offered a full-time job..i told them i don't handle stress very well and then thats when the suicidal thoughts still come and they get stronger. I am a suicide survivor...sometimes I would rather be dead than living knowing that my family thinks i am a peace of crap..

Wow, I'm really sorry to here that.
Believe me...what your family thinks is not worth dying for.
It's great that you love your job.

It's gotta be real hard when your own family figures they know best all the time.
They really have no right to decide what's best for you.
Sometimes families can be the very reason that people think so poorly of themselves. Sometimes it's better to just distance yourself, if not physically, then emotionally

Sounds to me like YOU got it together....
Don't discuss work or disability with your family as they're obviously not on the same page as you, and either don't want to be, or don't care.
It's your life...Live for yourself.....not others.
It's really not that important what others think...so don't set store by it.
Only YOU know what's right for you...trust in yourself..have faith in YOU, and believe it.
Feel sorry for those that can't be happy for you.

I hear ya. Whatever I do, it is never enough for them. And they KNOW I was admitted for being suicidal in the past. They love to insult me. That is why I live with my husband now, far away.

Those types of families can be devastating to anyone, but even more so to people who are already dealing with emotional/mental issues. And maybe their family was part of the problem in the first place.

I don't give a rat's-rear end what anyone else thinks of me. . . as long as I'm not being cruel or trying to hurt others - they can take their opinions and stuff them.

Always remember that we are all unique, and what is best, is what's best for each person.
