maybe it's your feeling that interacting with a woman means "chasing" her that's part of your problem.
Sounds to me like you just need some releeeeease, if you know what I mean. There's women who'll help you with that, and no "chasing" involved.
It's your setting such high store on having a girlfriend that could be part of the cause for your anxiety.....women can be your friends....without having to be [your] girlfriend. They are people first....maybe you're not seeing that.

There is no such thing as "normal" and the sooner you accept that the better off you will be. It is the first thing a doctor will tell you and talking with someone is a damn good start.
