My husband is only 48 so he has a way to go before he retires. Maybe it will be different one we both retire who knows.

I decided to revisit my post. Almost a year and a half later and I still feel the same way. Husband's changes have been positive--working from home, not commuting to the city everyday. He is still working from home.
Me--never time alone. Have not adjusted.
Still feel like I am going to burst...
I hate this Pandemic...

I'm so sorry. I don't know how you stand it. I HAVE to have alone time, by any means necessary. My mental health is at stake.
It's sneaky and dishonest, but if he's been bugging me I wait until he goes out to the guest house to use his big screen computer, then I leave in the van. If I told him I was leaving he would clamor to go with me.

Can you get a she-shed or rent a small space for yourself?

I just wish he would leave the house for a day every week.

It would not be the same as my home. I just spent a month away in New York State working. It was nice coming home to a quiet, by myself, hotel every night. But my stuff--the kitchen, my sewing room, etc. were not there. I will say it was a much needed break.

You've tried asking nicely, I believe. Maybe it's time for an ultimatum?

True - it would drive me insane!!
Perhaps you could insist on separation, for a while, OP? Make it sound serious. This, or divorce. It's taking a toll on your mental health and I totally understand it.

So, can you afford to build a man-cave for him somewhere? It sounds like it would be worth every penny. And stock it full of everything you can think of that would keep him amused: TV, booze, comfy chair, tools, hobbies, magazines, workout equipment, mini-fridge, microwave, etc., etc. It would be fun to design.
