I have been diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder (which has since been suggested as Bipolar II instead) Substance Abuse Disorder, Eating Disordered. I think I also possibly have Paranoid Personality Disorder (I know! who knew it had a name) and God Alone Knows what else they want to throw at me - I think I've covered all the Labels to date.
I'm officially 40% disabled.
However I am one of the sanest people I know.
Also not medicated as such - my medicine is self care. Which of course is a bit hit and miss at times.
Have at it folks.
I am Officially Mentally Ill so anything you want to know, I'll try to answer.
You say Substance Abuse Disorder. Are you staying clean? Are you receiving any support of any kind in that vein? The reason I ask is because I've seen decent people suffer horribly because street drugs just don't mix with mental illness.
There is a huge difference between Borderline Personality Disorder and Bipolar. What kind of eating disorder do you have? Are you in any treatment? How old are you?

Exactly. And there are no medications for personality disorders since they are learned, ingrained ways of behaving that date back to early childhood. There are meds for treating Bipolar I and Bipolar II (one much more severe than the other).
Many borderline people think they are the sanest people they know. They might be to themselves...gonna have to ask their family, friends and therapists if they agree. Its unlikely.

We're ALL mentally ill, yours is just "official"........there's ALWAYS a label the shrinks can stick you with.
Also...I like the way you've spaced your comments...much easier to read.
Here's some of the psychiatrists at there best....the shrink at 1:40 is downright scary when you consider people actually go to him for help...
