I have problems falling asleep and then i sometimes wake up too..
Early and cant fall 100% back asleep.
Any good OTC stuff?
Most of them make you feel really groggy when you wake up.
I thought there might be something thats OTC now.

This isn't a suggestion for a medication, but have you tried ingesting some tryptophan before your bedtime? Tryptophan is an amino acid. It can work on your serotonin or melatonin levels and affect a lot of people as a sleep aid. It's found in most animal-proteins and dairy. (We mostly hear about it with regard to turkey, but it's in other foods as well.) Try a small glass of milk before bedtime...or some yogurt, a (cooked/boiled) egg white, some cheese, a handful of peanuts.

I have problems with a type of insomnia that causes me to wake up every hour or so, although I fall asleep easily. I've noticed that when I drink a glass of milk before bedtime, I sleep better...longer, more soundly, more restfully.

turkey, tuna and warm milk contain tryptophan.
Tuna puts me out like I've taken sleeping pills(which don't make me sleep----go figure)
I take a tablespoon of Benadryl when I don't have or want the 3 other items mentioned.

Tylenol PM works like a charm for me. I'm not groggy the next morning either.

Melatonin. I know someone has already said this but it is an herbal supplement that you can get pretty cheap in almost any CVS/Walgreens/Walmart/etc. and much safer than any sleep aid (or nightime headache reliever/fever reducer) out there and it works best if you're lactose intolerant or you hate fish like me.

Melatonin is your best bet! Also, if you take a daily multi-vitamin, make sure it has a decent amount of vitamin D in it. That helps with sleep cycles. Don't take too much, though, cause I have heard that too much can be harmful, too. My daughter takes vitamin D that comes in a liquid form. It is in a bottle comparable to an eye drop bottle, and she takes 2 drops nightly. She has some autoimmune issues, so most people could probably get away with 1 drop.

Some peolple swear by chamomille tea, but I have never found it to make a difference for me.

I take calcium and magnesium at night before bed and they help me sleep better. When I'm stressed or having problems with anxiety or insomnia, I take melatonin or valerian root. Try to find melatonin in a 1 mg dose - the most common is 3 mg and that's too much - it can make you have very vivid dreams.

Here's a link I found that talks about these: 4 All Natural Sleep Aids to Help Treat Your Insomnia | Herbal Household Remedies

Tylenol PM simply has Benadryl in it which is dephendydramine. This is an allergy medicine that has a huge side effect of drowsiness so it is quite effect for sleep I found that it works very well at putting me to sleep but I find it has far more of a hangover effect that Ambien for me. I also find that long term use of benadryl causes me to be hungry which is like the devil I am sticking to melatonin, magnesium, excercise, Ambien CR and good sleep hygene....it usually works but it gets exhausting
