Default I wish I did have sleep attacks

I don't, but wish I did. Seems like most of the family sleeps everytime they sit down. I know that power naps are healthy for you..I wish I could take a little nap during the day to renew myself..It seems that once in a blue moon when I do fall asleep during the day (only if I have been sleep deprived) that when I wake up I have a terrible headache and just don't feel well. Soooo, if I miss a nights sleep, I just keep awake until my next regular bed time..

In defense of the previous two posters of whom I assume you are speaking, I don't think they intended to be disrespectful in any way. And just as a point of clarity, this site isn't a dedicated forum for individuals who suffer from narcolepsy or any particular medical condition. While yhwhshalomjr and Miss Blue may not be able to identify with suffering through narcolepsy, they both suggested that they may be on the other end of the spectrum, not being able to sleep enough, which can be equally debilitating to some. Again, I don't think they intended to be disrespectful. And, though you may not want to hear this, sometimes a lighthearted joke is good for you.

It's possible, although I haven't been diagnosed as of yet. The Dr. told me it's more likely that I have sleep apnea instead of narcolepsy, and I'm taking Provogil as a result. I'll need to go through a sleep study to know for sure.

My oldest son recently had a sleep study done because he falls asleep often in the afternoons, which throws off his sleep schedule. He lost his first job (granted it was at a library) because he fell asleep. The sleep study turned out normal. I was told by the lady that gave the sleep study that people with narcolepsy just fall asleep doing anything like in the middle of a conversation, driving, walking, at a store etc. That is pretty dramatic and would be quite debilitating I have no doubt.
