Can the rest of the Dolphin handle the excess traffic that the three mile stretch will add to the rest of the roadway?

I intended to make this thread a poll, but I forgot to press the button .

You can edit your posts you know... well, it might be too late for that now, but you could have originally within a short period of time when it was posted.

It would not let make make a poll or delete it. Anyway, I did hear they were doing toll plaza improvements to the turnpike, but it is beyond me how the current Dolphin will accomodate this small but signifigant segment.

I think it will help a little. The dolphin has the worse traffic i've seen in Miami. They need like 20 roads around that area, and they keep building homes

I can see how it might slightly improve the traffic situation on the Turnpike Extension, but not on the Dolphin.

I think the extension of 836 will be a good thing for west Dade commuters. I think MDX has really done a great job attempting to improve the expressways in Dade County. Unfortunately, that can only go so far.

The new 836 portion is a great add for me. I live in west kendall. This last week I've been taking kendall drive towards krome ave, north krome to tamiami trail, tamiami to 137th ave, from 137th to the new 836. I get off on 87th ave to go to my office. Well, at the time I'm in the crossing of 836 and turnpike, only 12 minutes have past since I left home. Before, taking turnkpike north, takes me at least 25-30 minutes to the crossing.

Now the big problem is the old part of 836; there's a bottle neck under 826 and then you have only 3 lanes to downtown. MDX should do what FDOT is doing in 826; expanding to 10 lanes plus one entrance/exit lane.
