Not to mention the air base is there permanently, so residents probably hear the jets year-round.

My sister is going there, I'm going to ask her for pictures. Though, I think it was today.

I was at the airshow yesterday and I can assure you that the fighter jets are VERY loud and do cause the ground to shake a bit.

The base is always staffed with a F-16's and F-15B/C's year round for air interdiction and airspace defense. The base is also home to the U.S. Special Operations Command South (SOCSOUTH).

I lived in Homestead at the same time on 288 Th st. I also heard the same sounds like nothing I have ever heard in my life,,,I also know the difference between what I heard and felt..This was no NORMAL jet as we had often heard. It also was no release of steam from turkey point I can tell you this I was surprised it didn't make the news. This was very loud and shook the ground hard I thought it was an experimental jet of some kind at the time,,but I never saw it !!!
