I read online they were planning to extend the metro mover to mid town. but when I checked the miami transit website they said there are no plans at this time

I don't understand why they don't just do "rent with the option to buy" like they do in some places outside of downtown.

those builders built those condos taking out loans from banks. If they loan calls for 400 bucks per square foot or 350 bucks per square foot and the market can't bare that price they can either hope to make the money back via renting on negotiate with the bank to short sale the condos BUT that would mean their credit would be done off.
