What would be feasible to get on rent at around 5-10k/month? How many bedrooms or bathrooms could we get get in an apt? My family member and I are looking for a lively area thats "hip" and near the beach; Brickell we chose due being in close proximity in downtown, and South Beach for being near the beach! ;-)

What is so interesting about being in close proximity to downtown? There is nothing there.

Downtown has plenty of new restaurants, hotels and condos.

There's also the Olympia Theater, Bayfront Park, Museum Park with two new iconic museums under construction. There's also the American Airlines Arena, a burgeoning gallery scene, historic architecture, the Klipsch Amphitheater, a nightclub area, ect...

There's a slew of more residential buildings coming along, a Whole Foods and the Met Square project with a movie theater and more restaurants. A new convention center, there's also Miami Grand Central Station, a new huge train station part of the new Orlando-Miami rail service. It should be pretty spectacular and completely change the western CBD.

and if you plan to stick around for a little while, you'll get to see the Miami Worlcenter project transform the Parkwest area.

The entire urban core is poppin right now, but Downtown is gonna end up benefitting the most from this metamorphoses.

For $5-10K a month I'd be sitting right on the ocean on Miami Beach.

Thankyou! But anybody have an idea about how many bedrooms/baths could be possible with an ocean view?

There is great variation in the rent depending on location and quality of building. Check sites like realtor.com or miamicondoinvestments.com to see what's available. In general you will get more in Brickell than in south beach (for newer buildings with view). In the nicer south beach buildings you're looking at 1 or 2 bedrooms, in Brickell 3 or more.

With $5 to $10k a month? South beach or downtown Miami shouldn't be a problem at all. The amount of bedrooms? how many do you require?

With an Ocean View on the Ocean or a water/bay view where you might see the Ocean.

I will say a top of a line building for 10k you can get two maybe three. For nice buildings but not top of the line 3-4.
