Wish me luck, the only apartment I can seem to find within my price range/commute to work is located near the Vagabond club on Miami Ct. west of the Adrienne Arsht Center. I was told the area is pretty bleak looking, and even a good spot to buy crack rock. It didn't seem that bad when I visited the area, despite people's crazy warnings to stay clear of the area, but then again I'm pretty tamed when it comes to rougher areas. Granted, it was in the day time though. We'll just have to see how it plays out at night time. Well, what can a guy do.

Well unless you want to carry on you, you dont need a license to keep a gun in your car or in your home. But get one anyway so you can have it on the walk from your car to your home.

The area is not the worst place around. But I wouldnt move there unless it was a desperate situation. Just use common sense. Protect yourself with something and you will be fine.

Not newer, but renovated supposedly. I'd tell you which one it is but don't necessarily want to give my address out in the internet. It's right by the Vagabond club though. From what I hear, the club is full of hipsters all the time, so luckily I don't see myself as being a prime target in the area if something were to go down.

Thanks, will do. Didn't know you could carry a gun in your house without a license, that's good news. I think I will apply for a carrier's permit though as well. Situation is pretty desperate, just trying to work a steady job and pay my way through school. Once things get on the right track I'm out of there.

Buy a gun. For simplicity and reliability, a .357 Magnum or 12-Gauge shotgun with 00 Buckshot, either would be good for home defense. For concealed carry, I'd check out a Glock G26 or G36.
