aint that the truth! *on looking for a job in this market*

As for prices. Prices will continue to fall until home prices come back in line with local incomes which is 2 to 3 times annual income. So if average income in a area is 45,000 then home price for a single or two person occupancy should be no more than 135,000 (if 45,000 is the amount for the average single person in a given area)

Don't get crazy on me but I have managed to get a job for a good salary even by NY standards and then I got a Job when I got here because I didn't love my first job and managed to get them to give me an adittional 5K more - I am not only making between 8-10K less than I did in NY. I'm just wondering what type of work are people looking for? Obviously, not everyone is in my industry but I can't beleive some of the stories of people not working for over a year or years. I find it to be soooo sad, but I also want to understand what types of jobs are you looking for? Are you applying for Jobs that you are not qualified for? On the other hand my husband is having a very dificult time - he's working but not making anywher near what he did in NY but he does have room for moving up quickly and getting considerable raises where he is at. We were picky for 3 weeks and then said forget it - take that job!

I own a company now so I am not looking for a job. But I would never be so presumptions to assume that because I can run my own business or find a good paying job that others should be able to as well. You could work as a bar tender (not saying you do) and that is high demand, however engineers are not in high demand right now. it is all relative.
