I am moving to SE Florida from Philadelphia for a job in medical sales. I am looking for recommendations on which areas would be desirable (Ideally I will be somewhere between Fort Lauderdale and West Palm). I am looking to rent a furnished condo or apartment for the first year. My girlfriend will be moving down once she finishes nursing school in December/January (we don't have kids). I am looking to spend between 1000-1500 per month in rent. Are there communities near the shore with easy proximities to the local Interstates? I will be heading down there in a couple of weeks to check out some neighborhoods, and I would appreciate any suggestions.

Can't go wrong with Boca Raton. But I strongly recommend checking a place out thoroughly before locking in. Areas near the beach tend to be fairly non-homogenous in quality.
