Hey does anybody watch Dexter? I'm trying figure out where his apartment is. I can't place a waterfront apt building like that? Is that really Miami or is that fake?

This was hysterical and fairly accurate .. yes South Beach is full of tourists and either poser or hip hop douche bags .. I would have included West Kendall and Colombians also though on your social map .

I read in the Miami Herald a couple of years ago that the apartment building does exist and it is on Biscayne Bay near the old Omni .. the first season was shot in Miami , Miami Beach , Miami Shores , Coconut Grove and Hollywood ( Fla ) .. and then due to costs it was moved permanently to So Cal and shot mostly in and around Long Beach which happens to look much like Miami ... only some exterior shots are still filmed in South Florida ... and a model / replica of the Biscayne Bay apartment building was built on the set in So Cal .... only Burn Notice and now the Glades are actually shot in South Florida .

Where is the old Omni, Rock? Is that like up near where the Venetian and MacArthur Causeway hit the mainland? Like right at the metromover "Omni"
station? Seems to me that area is mostly tall waterfront luxury condo buildings.

It's hard for me to wrap my mind around the idea that anything in any category in SoCal is cheaper. I guess in the film industry it must be true somehow, but it's still hard to imagine.

Only thing I found cheaper in SoCal was wine. I had a glass of Merlot there once at a Thai place for 2 dollars! It was the best wine I ever had. Needless to say, I had another.
