Hi everyone..., I am so pissed at Comcast w/ their poor customer service in numerous ways (they recently came out to fix faulty wiring that one of their field techs installed awhile back & now they're charging me $45.00 ?), that I'm thinking of opting out of my current contract & making the switch to AT&T..., but, wanted to know from your own experiences about their high speed internet (I'm used to 10-20+ Mbps download), how their programming compares to Comcast, & anything else that may be helpful in order for me to make a decision. I'm so sick & tired of talking to Comcast's clueless customer svc reps & their billing dept who are always on the defensive..., Thank you in advance for your responses...,

i have att uverse for a year now and it has been great to me so far. Remember South FL is monopolized by AT&T and is considered a priority market, so imagine the support they have

Problem is, AT&T has not yet deployed U-Verse everywhere yet, only in a few select areas. And last I heard they had stopped rolling out U-Verse due to the state of the economy, I'm not sure if they are even expanding as of right now.

Comcast is a pain in the ass. Especially their "bundle specials" they have so many terms & conditions you never know what the cost will be to you until the offer is expired and they jack you up to "regular" pricing.

I have had Uverse bundle (voice, internet and tv) for 2 months, and been very happy so far. I think I have the 12MB down plan, but I don't stream Netflix so I don't know about the speed, other than it is ample for my purposes.

After a few hundred dollars in incentives burn off, Uverse will still be 10% cheaper than my previous comcast-at&t combo.

However, as previously noted, Uverse is not everywhere. Before Uverse, I had AT&T DSL Ultra, which was occasionally slow. AT&T DSL would go down maybe once every 6 months (about the same frequency as my comcast cable would go out.)

I was totally happy with Uverse until I told them I wanted to transfer to another apartment and we were told our account would be charged 449.00. We don't have 449.00 and feel we are forced to go back to Comcast to save money. BIG PROBLEM - we don't want too! ;^(
