You should be fine. You're likely going to hear people speaking Spanish to you immediately, thinking you are Hispanic!

I don't know about the cost of living in those cities, but the three mentioned in your last post should be within 1 or 1 1/2 hour drive.

I thought Snooki was Sicilian...the double "zz's" in her name Polozzi are indicative of Sicilian heritage.

Do other ethnic groups discriminate and demonstrate open racism towards people who appear "white"? Also, I am studying spanish and know a little bit to get by. Is it true to get hired anywhere in Miami I need to be fluent? Are there many bartending/hotel/hospitality/cocktailing jobs available? How's the economy?

I'm in Chicago and hate the winters. I'm considering relocating to Miami. Any thoughts and opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

^^^ Where did you get that from? No one here can tell the difference between nationalities, unless they are really into the phenotypes.

I'M from miami and I was moved to NY for work and I feel your pain cnt wait to go back to my sunny FL but no i do not think miami is racist at all if anything people may be more segragated than NY or chi-town every culture kinda keeps to themselves or at least is what i've noticed, but it is not bad at all. even if you are more "white looking" than italian ( i hate evn sayin that lol) you should b fine is who you are more open to meet, hang and date. Good luck!

Almost all my friends are of Italian descent, but from Genova. People down here just never think about race, tbh. That's more like an American thing, imho.

I met a lot of Venezuelan of Italian extraction, I have a friend that owned a quarry all his family were Corsican, that are French but speak a Italian dialect. Italians in Venezuela are relatively recent there, they arrived during the 40's and 50's. I guess that all those people must be in Miami by now, the favoured a place name Bonaventure and Coral Springs.

Far more Italians went to Latin America than to North America. 55 percent of white Argentineans are from Italian stock and Sao Paolo is the third of fourth "Italian" city because the name of Italians there.

An Argentinean told me that Italians from NY and Italian from Argentina are very different because the ones from Argentina are from Northern Argentina and the ones in NY are from Southern Italy, I don't think he's right.
