Florida seems to be going berserk; now two officers have been shot dead in St. Petersburg, with a third seriously injured.

I saw that.

Unfortunately it isn't just FL, nor just Miami.

True ... I was in Houston a couple of years ago when a cop was shot and killed by an illegal Mexican immigrant .. that was headlines there for over a week . South Florida and Miami in particular does seem to be going through a scary uptick in violent crimes .

Actually a guy went into a police station in Detroit a few days ago and shot four cops in the police station ... yes in the police station before they killed him .. so not it is not just Florida or Miami .

But this makes 4 officers dead in state of FL in the past several days. It happened in Oregon and Detroit, but it happened twice in FL and 4 officers are dead now. Very sad.

I never believed that a person's job title automatically makes that one a hero. We know that the concept of police being a special class of worker is a dominant theme, thus they get special treatment when their life is in danger or lost. The crime is a natural outcome of an area with an economy looted by the power elite, and as some say "those who have lost everything have nothing to lose". Many people in M-Dade county were concerned enough to visit the funeral home where these officers are, and they surely have the right to do so. If they had to stop traffic to accommodate the funeral procession so be it. I have had to sit while many of such caravans of cars pass me by. What people forget is that the police are being endangered by needless laws and a corrupt, inept court system run by lawyers in a closed loop circle of corruption. A properly armed public can help our police by stopping the run of criminals like this dirt bag by taking aim at them directly.

Not to mention that the police represent the law, and we are a civil society and we (at least most of us) respect the law. My half hour delay on I-95 was a small sacrifice as we pay our last respects to these officers. Besides, there's always such a thing as following the news and leaving early!

that said poster lives in Charlotte, he is not being inconvenienced at all.

I hadn't heard about this until my Mother mentioned the funeral being on TV today - I'm out of the state, in the process of moving. Went on The Herald website, and once again, there's the mother of this shooter stating "He wasn't an evil man!" Yeah, right - and I'm the Queen of England! Seems none of these people are terrible people according to their families and friends. I would love to know what would constitute EVIL, TERRIBLE, ETC in their warped minds!

I have never seen anything like this in my life. I feel like Miami was at a stand still. It brought tears to my eyes. RIP
