The second cop died? I saw this on the news earlier today, but I haven't been following it since then. They shot and killed the 2 suspects.

That's a very bad area. From the interviews with the general public, it seems that the sound of gunfire is normal to them.

Awful, truly awful.

The second cop died in surgery. It is a tragedy. Let's hope the suspects are prosecuted and given the death penalty.

Sad, sad day. People really don't have regard for another life these days. If they would stop and think wait this police man or woman isn't just a cop but possibly a father, mother, husband, wife, friend to someone out there. They are doing their job.

Sad. Just doing your job...The 95 had the exits blocked off too at 62nd, a bit of a traffic jam. I was in the area when it happened, as I am usually around there, or Opa-Locka. But I have not had any problems, awhile back, the bank in that area was robbed, there is like one bank around there.

The suspects were both shot dead I believe. No other suspects were being sought. Being a cop is a dangerous business and often a thankless one. It's tragic that 2 of them lost their lives protecting the rest of us from the bad elements of society.

So sad to hear this. I actually saw it on the news while I was at an appointment. I was in the lobby watching national news and in the span of about 3-5 minutes, 2 stories involving S FL were on... this one and the mafia dudes getting arrested up north and one mob leader hiding out in Ft. Lauderdale.

These are no heroes to me. They were doing they job. Cops know what they get themselves into when they sign up for the job. Not sure why they always managed to close I-95, it's like a given, crisis in the city...quick close I-95!!!
