I'm moving to an apartment behind Dadeland mall, across a little river (I guess). I'm living here for 4 months, and I'm mainly afraid of my car's safety. I've read mixed reviews about the complex my unit is in.... I really just dont want my car to get vandalized! I dont keep any valuables in my car, but I know sometimes people just smash windws/key cars just 'cause.

Thanks for any insight.

i GO there everyday, and it is veeeery safe. But you need a car cuz walking or crossing the streets is bit dangerous though.

You shouldn't have any problems in that area. I am not sure about those complexes, if they have had any car breakins in the past. You shouldn't leave anything in your car anyways that would attract people to the car anyways.

The whole area itself is pretty safe overall but crimes are still going to happen so don't let your guard down. The apartment complex behind Dadeland mall on the other side of the canal is not bad but far from the best complex in the area so keep that in mind.

That area is nice and safe, don't worry about it. Just don't keep any attractive in your car.

I use to work that area, but left in late 2004. Many cars were stolen or burglarized back then. I heard that since the area was redone, things have been a little better.

Decent area but I feel that car break-ins in apartment complexes are inevitable in many places unfortunately.

2004 was a whole different story. From 2001-2004 Kendall got a lil off the roof, but those days are long over. I think some people here know what I'm talking about, I'll get banned if I tell you what it was.

You can send me a private message though.

Yeah seriously, last year I was living in a GATED apartment complex in one of the nicest areas of Tampa. My car STILL got broken into one of the first nights I was there. Things like this happen no matter where you are, just make sure you keep your eyes out.
