other than jalebi (the orange stuff above) we had, had at the fruit and spice park asian culture festival and the gulab jamun Gulab jamun - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia which we had, had at several indian restaurants before. we didnt know what we were looking at. the guy behind the counter was really friendly and gave us some stuff to taste to try that he said were the very popular ones. we got a box to go of various sweets to try. a number of them are a type of halva which if you are familiar at all with middle eastern food halva its kinda like that. same texture. I'm a very international guy, but when it comes to food, I prefer to stick with bread an clean water. I can't just dare myself to taste new stuff...

Wow! That's an impressive display of food! Maybe I'll venture out to those areas one day and give them a try.

Speaking of food, the all time best Chinese food restaurant I found is on South Beach...I think the name is Mrs. Yums....something like that. I hope I'm not mixing that up with the frozen food at the store...I can show you where it is but I forget the name. But it's something similar to that.

Fabulous. Go there!

Edit: Quick Google search fixed that. Miss Yip. Delish!

I don't know, man. I can't even eat my mom's food without having to interrogate her on the things she puts on the table.

People say " you have to eat everything otherwise you won't survive in this world"... but what if I train myself to not to feel that hungry? **wonders**

I don't know about having to eat everything to be able to survive, I just think you're missing out on some delight for your tastebuds.

I understand where you're coming from...I like to know what the heck is going in my food, did the person wash their hands, how clean are these people, etc but sometimes, it's just better not to think about that stuff and enjoy.

true

Sometimes there are certain foods that don't pass the Vision or Smell test, but are very popular amongst people.

cixcell, I see you went to Pho Thang--have you also tried the Asian Fusion Cafe? It's on the northbound side of US1 in that shopping center just south of SW 168th St next to the BP station.
