Garcias is one of the most common Spanish last names, right there next to Rodriguez, Perez, Gonzalez and Diaz.

Is "Garcia" south of Miami or Miami? Is Wilson Ft Lauderdale or WPB? The map is a tad confusing. Wheres the Keys?

which is weird... it seems I'm not the only one who has never met a Garcia. The only Garcia I know is the writer (the overrated one)

Those are Castillian last names (from the ancient kingdom of Castille that engulfed most of Spain).

There are also Catalan and Basque last names, that are entirely different.
