I want to move to Miami & I want to know what are the good areas... I live in Buckhead in Atlanta which is like the "good part" or some call it "The Beverly Hills of Atlanta". I don't want to be in a really expensive area nor do I want to be in the hood! The highest I am willing to pay for rent is $1,300. Could I get something nice for that?? Maybe hardwood floors, or stainless steel appliances? Also if I could be near a beach that would be awesome!

Do a search! There have been a lot of similar threads recently.

What you are seeking is definatly possible even for just $1,000 a month. What kind of community are you looking for? The neighborhoods down here are really different from each other and there are SO MANY neighborhoods to choose from.

There are expensive latino areas, you can try south beach for the young party croud, North Beach for a more laid back latin vibe, sunny isles for a more posh beachy feel, Aventura is really nice but there are not a lot of people in their 20s there. The 41st street area of Miami Beach is really nice. There are many families but also many young folks because its a quick drive to South Beach. Its definatly $1,000+, but its a great area. Its sort of the middle ground of Miami Beach.

All of the areas I have mentioned are safe. South Beach is safe, but use street smarts when alone at night. Plenty of pervy weirdos down there.

C'mon WF, she's 23, she's not looking for a golf course and good schools for the kids. She wants to party with you on the beach!

I'm African American/Puerto Rican but I prefer either a predominantly white area, a good black area, or of course a mix of both. I work from home so I would need to be in an area where if I have meetings people who be comfortable coming to my home.
