What is the best Cell Phone carrier in downtown Miami and Miami Beach? I need a new phone and want to have the best service possible. Thanks

Well, no one answered this so I'll answer with my opinion.

TMobile did very well for me in Miami Beach. Never had a dropped call, never had in and out reception, it was very good. I was pleased.

Depends on what kind of building you live in...concrete will interfere with reception, not matter what kind of service you have, unless you get an android that allows you to use wifi signals. I have Metro PCS by the way, and I haven't had any issues with the current phone that I do have, which is an android.

It's not Android, it's T-Mobile that has the UMA over WiFi calling. They have it on Blackberry and some other phones as well.

Generally, the higher the frequency the poorer the in-building coverage will be.

T-Mobile uses only 1900mhz
Sprint 1900mhz
Verizon uses 850 & 1900
AT&T 850 & 1900
Nextel 800mhz (do they even sell this anymore? It is going to be SLOOOW for internet access, if they even have any smartphones)

I always get poor reception with Verizon, but the coverage isn't bad.
T-Mobile don't get them if you travel much, they are even entire counties in Florida with no T-Mobile reception. There was even one spot no more than 2 miles from I-75 where T-Mobile would just cut off.

I think in Florida AT&T has the best reception. Beware, the iPhone in terms of reception isn't the best, may people with iPhones mistakenly blame AT&T for their reception problems.

What service do you have now? Are you happy with it? Most carriers allow you to return the phone and cancel the contract within 30 days (read the fine print of course).

I recommend you look at AT&T and Verizon, they have the best nationwide coverage. Sprint & T-Mobile are going to have spotty, if any, coverage in rural and less densely populated areas.

I don't recommend MetroPCS. I used it for a month, and when I paid for the 2nd month it was charged to my credit card, but didn't apply to the phone. I called MetroPCS and it's almost impossible to talk to a human (I had to search online for what to press) and they told me too bad we can't help you, call the credit card company.
