I'm a good looking, young and social guy who just turned 21 two months ago and I was looking to start working in a bar environment in Miami as a barback with hopes of eventually working my way up to a bartender. One place I'm going to apply to is The Blue Martini Lounge in Brickell, and was wondering if you all could list off a bunch of bars/clubs/lounges in the Brickell/downtown/Grove area similar to that type of environment that would higher entry level barbacks (or higher for any entry level positions for that matter). Would love to work in a position that makes like $100+ in tips every night, if possible. South Beach/Miami Beach however, appears too rigid in who they hire, and seems way too difficult to break into (I'll wait till I cut down to a single digit BF% first lol).

If possible, when it comes to customers, I would prefer it to be in a mostly English speaking environment (even though I'm currently in the process of trying to learn Spanish), to make things continue as smooth as possible until I can get a better grasp of the Spanish language. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind customers that speak Spanish, I'm only saying this to avoid being recommended to apply at some Hialeah-esque watering hole where I would be the only guy who speaks English lol. Thanks a lot guys.

also if anyone has any advice on landing jobs like the ones i mentioned above, feel free to give me any information you can. my background is in retail, fast food, one warehouse and one deli. i love meeting new people though, staying in shape and socializing. i would love to be a barback, but any other entry level position where I can potentially make a $100+ in tips a night would be awesome too.

Club 50 is at the Viceroy/Icon.

I don't club so I don't know how it is, though.

That is correct.

Too loud and expensive, IMO. (As are all clubs, IMO!)

I'd rather buy a nice bottle of wine, make some appetizers and hang out of my own balcony.

yeah i know what you mean. working at a club would be awesome and i will look into these recommendations for sure, but i think a bar lounge (like The Blue Martini) is more my scene in terms of a job. but im going wherever the $$$ is at!

Oh sure, I hear where you're coming from! A job is a job and with the amount people are paying up at the club I would imagine they're tipping well!

Good luck!
