My wife and I live in West Palm and want to have a get-a-way weekend. We're looking to just relax and have drinks by the pool and would like recommendations for an upscale hotel in the area. I've heard that the Ritz, Fontainbleau, Loews and 4 Seasons are nice. Anyone have personal experience, reviews or recommendations? Thanks!

I have stayed at the Loews nice hotel. We stayed in the smaller building which was quiet. The foutinbleu I have heard good things but it is a little far from South Beach, you will need to take a cab or drive.

My wife and I stayed at the Loews last year and had a great time...the pool is open 24/7 for your drinking pleasures and the beach is a short walk...there are plenty of restaurants and shopping if you desire...and as my wife claims...eye candy for both of you...

Loews is defintely really nice; the Sagamore; Setai and the Betsy are also really nice for a getaway. Another really nice choice - though not on South beach - is the Mandarin.

I have stayed at the ritz, and I honestly like the marriot on ocean drive better (NOT THE WASHINGTON AVE ONE).

The pool aread is really nice and at night the pool and jacuzzi change colors.

The ritz was just so generic. I haven't stayed at the Blu yet, but it seems really lux and nice. The pool area is great, they have these round beds by the pool you can rent.
