Why does it matter? What is the point of being in a gang? I don't see what the allure is.

Ok, so the point of this thread was what, exactly? You're looking for old mates/ex gang colleagues for a class reunion? ...

Some dudes just make me laugh...(not you necessarily). But it looks like you were trying to reconnect with some old peeps. Here's where you can find some of them:

The last large-scale gang-related shooting in Dade County was the funeral shooting back in late-March of this year in North Miami. It involved a homegrown Haitian gang called One-Way that's been around for a while. Hardly ever here about out of state gang-related killings. Most gang killings are done by homegrown neighborhood cliques, sets, crews, etc. I honestly can't remember the last time I've heard of a major shooting/drug-bust/streetsweep/gang-bust involving GD's, LK's, MLD's, VL's, IG's, Bloods, Crips, Netas, Trini's DDP's, P.Stone's, etc, in Miami. I always here people say that GD's and Folk Nation are operating in SoFla. Well, where are they? Miami's REAL gang problem:

The last Chicago gangster that made it big here was Al Capone.

Agreed. Honestly don't know where these out of state gangs operate. Maybe in the burbs like Kendall or something, or some other areas that never had any previous gang activity to begin with. Not gonna find many Bloods, Crips, LK's or GD's in Liberty City.

Larry Hoover made it pretty big while in prison. They just recently isolated him so that he can no longer get in contact with members.

Kendall did have some gang problems during the 90's. Braddock had gang issues when it was an overcrowded mess before Varela & Ferguson were built. I remember being at a store in Town & Country and some kid ran into the store bleeding from a stab wound he got during a gang fight, this was in the early 90's. Why gangs pop up in a middle class area like Kendall who knows but there you go.

Yeah, you're not. Black gangs in Miami are usually neighborhood "crews" but they don't have the structure & organization you see in gangs in LA or Chicago. Then you have Haitian gangs like Zoe Pound who've been around for more than a decade. You'd see Zoe Pound members selling CD's of their music outside gas stations in North Miami in the late 90's. It seems like they hired a publicist or something though because they've been featured a few times on those gang documentary tv shows recently.
