In LA you could surf, whereas here we need either a hurricane close by, or be willing to drive two and a half hours to hit the waves in Coco Beach.

Yeah, but that water in LA is too cold to go in. And I don't think the waves there are exactly Waikiki either HK.

And here you can snorkel. It all depends on what you like. I hate cold water. As it is, here the water's not warm enough for me till June.

NEVER make the mistake of thinking there's a comparison between LA and Miami. Once you step off the plane you'll realize instantly how NOT like LA Miami is! LA's beaches can't even touch Miami's.

It's not the humidity that you feel, it's the dew point that can be brutal. So far, the dew point in South Florida has been low. Wait. June usually starts the rainy season. As someone else said, in August you will know if you like it or not. This ain't it.

If you want to loose wait:

- On the days of the summer solstice, go to a parking lot and stay inside your car for one hour, at the very least, with clothes on. No air conditioning, just opened windows.

True, true, true!

I moved away from Florida and gained an incredible amount of weight after being the same weight for 44 years.
