I'm different though. Not gonna lie, I used to like Oasis and other Britpop acts when I was in elementary, but now, I won't listen to them, not because they wore off with time, but mainly cuz now, I'm more picky when it comes to music. My ears have developed over the years, and they are still developing. I take pride on that.

It's honestly all blended together for me, so couldn't tell you if it went downhill over the years (though I do remember "Mandatory Metallica" now that you mention it). However, they also had a weekly local music scene show around the late 90s/early 2000s at least and brought a number of acts down here. Now nothing comes here--I think that's really what drove them, now that niche is unfilled.

93.1 sucked as a rock station. That station is responsible for me now hating Led Zeppelin & Pink Floyd due to them constantly overplaying those bands. Miami need a real rock station and we need to attract good bands down here, rather than the usual Lady Gaga crap.

Y100 needs the plug pulled it ASAP. It represents a lot what's wrong with Miami in 2011. The DJ's are loud and obnoxious as is the music they play.

Y100 wasn't so bad when I first came there in 2008, and they even had a deal called Club Sessions with DJ Cato K, and the music was hot dance hits like David Guetta's Love is Gone. This last time in October there was almost none of that. Everytime I flipped to y100 there was some lame love ballad or rap song with no rhythm where the rappers couldn't rap. It was awful. I had my dial pegged at Mix 98.3 and La Mega 94.9 the whole time I was there, as well as El Zol 95.7 .

When I came down in 2008 I was impressed with a local college station that debuted the Ting Ting's "Great DJ". I didn't know what it was at the time, but I think It was WVUM 90.5.

There was also a radio station that would play lots of early 80's music like Falco's Der Kommisar.

I never really heard much of 93.1 but I know it sucked a$$ - my younger sister being my only source of knowledge (she listens to radio )

Classical South Florida is the only decent station in Miami, but it's still far from being good.

The original song by Falco is in German. What I've heard on the radio (and it's been a few years... now I have a hard drive w/ MP3 in my car) is the English cover version by After The Fire.

Alles klar?
