My job is being transferred to Miami Beach. I want to live about 35 minutes away, (I don't want a long daily commute) in a diverse town with low crime and that is family friendly. Where should I start my search? And I am planning renting. If that helps. Any advice would be greatly appreciated thanks!

Why not live right in Miami Beach? It's the best part of Miami by far. Family friendly part would be North Beach like Arthur Godfrey area, Surfside, or any of those little towns on the north side of the island.

Why would you want to live 35 minutes away??

I second Surfside. Excellent for family friendliness, safety and affordability.

I agree, if you will be working on Miami Beach, why not live there too.
