Ah, no worries! Alles gut, ja?

One of the things I find kind of hysterical is that the actual website for the Bayside Continental had many photos of Miami, BUT NOT A SINGLE PHOTO OF THE HOTEL ITSELF. Honestly they should advertise themselves as a Historic Landmark, which they are, and learn to feel comfortable in their own skin! Frankly I would like to see that hotel remain as it is, but with upkeep since it IS a historical marker. Take a look at the Art Deco window dressings when you get a chance to drive past it, and see some of the chandeliers inside.

I actually like that weird Seafoam Green paintjob. It has a certain charm. Oh, and the website does make a point to be up front and candid, and say that it is a one star hotel for budget purposes and that they offer shuttle services, but not much else. However there is a breakfast cafe there called the 1920. I would be curious to have a bite there. I could imagine it seeming like the weird Kubrickian ambiance of the Overlook hotel.

Well, to be honest, pictures of bugs running rampant inside and blood stained sheet doesn't exactly scream "STAY HERE!" to many people

My family stayed there a little over a year ago and it was a little bit shabby, but the location was wonderful. It was right across the street from the Bayside Marketplace and right by several bus routes to South Beach/Miami Beach (so after a night of partying, the trip back would be fairly easy). It is also near the MetroMover, which goes around Downtown and Brickell.

The hotel itself didn't make a big difference to us because we weren't spending a lot of time there: We just left our belongings there during the day and slept there at night. The rest of the time, we were exploring Miami.
