hi here does anyone know if I will need to retake my driving test for owning a car in miami? I am english and passed my test 25 years ago in england and have a german driving licence.....we have heard that to own a car here in miami we must first of all take a test?

true, but the driving test here is easy compared to driving tests in Europe. I wont even sweat it

Your sad about taking 2 hours out of your day and spending $50 for a drivers license. The driving test IS the easiest thing I have ever done in my life. Watching TV is more difficult. It is nothing like it is in Europe. I wish it was more difficult but it was not. So go online and make an appointment to take a test. You will obviously bring your car. Also dont forget you need to buy insurance too.
Why is this a big deal?

Cixcell - you are wrong and v judgemental, you do not know me at all!!!! I am not after an easy ride from you guys just after friendly help and to make life easier for me ....no harm in that.. And this is why i always get the best out of everywhere i live..so do i not use this forum again? If this is the attitude of it??? Suh a shame...... Its all about the positivity of the person - you smile and the world smiles with you.....i can suure you 100 per cent miami and i will gel along nicely together.....only here 3 days - got robbed yesterday - but still v happy to be here!

By the way forgot to say yes we do have to take a test - we checked it out in person...in case this helps others moving here....and no its not a problem to take the test, or pay for it, or even do it, cos i have only had 1 accident in 25 years of driving...
