Miami DOES NOT and NEVER WILL resemble Afghanistan or Ethiopia.

Actually, if more people figured out how great it is to live here, we'd have a million USA people banging on the door to get in, so some on this board take the anti-position to ward those would-be-relocaters away from the region to keep it from being even more overcrowded and sprawling than it already is (& less Latin, of course).

Same goes for Broward, people love to say how much they hate it, but the truth is Broward is a fantastic place to live, and it is a miracle that it is only 1.7 million people.

OK, haters, do your job and work that magik

The humidity is atrocious, nobody speaks English, it's 3rd world, there are no mountains, women are golddiggers (my GF is cleaning the house in a thong, gotta go) etc...

Nobody goes to a Third-World city like Miami anymore, it's always too crowded.

when our credit rating gets downgraded to D- or F, the whole US will be carrying bags on their heads and drinking water from polluted rivers and sewers

Thanks Congress.

Miami is nowhere close to being Third World. Just because there is crime and some rude people doesn't make Miami Third World. If you really believe Miami is Third World then you must be a pampered arrogant tool.

People came to Miami to avoid conflict, not necessarily create it. Miami is a business hub for Latin America, a very large emerging market, the vacation destination for many in the US, and a place where hundreds of thousands came to enjoy a better, peaceful life with access to amenities (education, medical attention, FREEDOM), that they may have not had in their previous country. Of course, with such a tumultuous history the good comes with the bad, and sometimes people lash out. It can't always be helped, but take solace in that Miami is the proud home of many, for better and for worse.

A lot of things happen in Miami that make people think it is like a Latin American country, which people mistakenly label "Third World".
